The biggest public domain archive offers huge selections and reference links to free audio books. It is also the archive for text, video, and other digital media contents.

It is the biggest repository of free audio books. You can search through their library of over1000 titles, all part of the public domain.

Over 2000 free mp3 audio books in about 100 categories including business, history, science, biography, philosophy, religion, and self-development. I got my favorite “As A Man Thinketh” here.

Open Culture Audio Books
Many classic titles by famous authors (Aesop, Austen, Dickens, etc) and audio online courses. also included a list of Audiobook Podcast Sites. All free.

A small audio book collection of novels, poetry, and children’s stories. They are all free. I got ”
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” here which is in better quality that that from LiriVox

Limited selections of classic literatures. Although the library isn’t huge, there are a lot of big names. Many books are in both mp3 32kbps mono and m4b for iPod format.

Over 400 titles available but you have to register to setup an account to download. Registration is free.

Literal Systems Audio Books
A handful children’s books and classics in high quality audio mp3 format.

Many of its collections are from LibriVox.

Only A few decent audio books here, one of them is How to Live on 24 Hours a Day written by Arnold Bennett.
